These three fairy dolls are a mix of several previous fairytopia dolls: The main bodies and clothes are almost the same
as the blue/pink Mermaidia colour change fairy, and the head design and wing size are the same as the three generic fairies
released with the Mariposa dolls. I can understand Mattel choosing smaller wings again as the boxes can be much
smaller, but it is disappointing to see they have given up completely on the leg patterns. On the original doll
(the colour change fairy) the bottom half of the legs were covered in a raised coloured pattern of seaweed and starfish. When
the design was used for a second time (on the blue fairy Sea Pixie doll) There was just a layer of blue, but now this third
time there is nothing!
These dolls are also made more cheaply. They have lighter legs that don't bend and the old elastic band system holding
them together, which means they can break more easily. This does have some benifits though, I managed to find the blue and
pink ones for £3.47 each, which is the cheapest I've found any of the fairytopia dolls.

This double pack is a store exclusive, but oddly the packet doesn't even have the fairytopia logo!
And what comes with the dolls, a wand for you...could it be the 'golden wand' that is supposed to be in the rumoured fifth
film? Well since it's not gold I wouldn't think so. The art on the box is very cute and clearly shows these generic fairies
and mermaids. It will be interesting to find the princess dolls that are represented by the third drawing..
Three generic mermaids, again they all are the same design just different colours. They are more detailed that the
fairies though, and they have the added feature of colour change, but I'm not sure which parts change colour. When
I get hold of a box I'll update this.

The two new 'princess to fairy' dolls are a slightly different body design. It seems to be a bit
like the mariposa ones, but with normal hands and not quite so long. The shoes are just like the mariposa ones, and the wings
seem a similar style too. The odd thing with these dolls are the boxes, they just 'Barbie' and no collection name,
even though mattel calls them 'Fairytopia Wingdom' . Odd.
